Let's Rock!

The recent resurgence of all things Bowie has inspired the creation of a set of illustrations based on LP covers and record labels of the past.
In no historical order, here are the first four in the series covering a few of my favourite musical genres. (Visually favourite musical genres that is).

Only how many weeks 'til Christmas?

Yes I know it's early to be talking Christmas but tomorrow sees the launch of my first Christmas book and eagerly awaited collaboration with Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter of McFly in "The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas" published by Random House. A funny, jolly, upbeat rhyming jaunt combining everyones favourite ingredients, Dinosaurs, Santa and Poo!
Check out the Big Book Babble on the 4th December for the on stage interview here.

Clifford Chance Art Exhibition 2012

2012 sees the Annual Pride Art Exhibition at Clifford Chance showing a collection of artists' work based on influential sports personalities,  "A Question of Sport: LGBT artists and their relationship to inclusivity" curated by Michael Petry
I will be showing a new paper cut  "I Can't Imagine Living And Not Running".
The title of this work is a quotation from the much admired British marathon runner and world record holder Paula Radcliffe.

To coincide with the show at Clifford Chance I have launched a new website dedicated to the work on paper I have created of the past few years.

The Pride Art Exhibition 11 June - 22 July 2012, Clifford Chance, 10 Upper Bank Street, London, E14 5JJ.

"I Can't Imagine Living And Not Running". 2012. Paper. 140x140cm.

Royal Tea

Special agents Claire and Alice at Meiklejohn Illustration invited their artists to celebrate this summer's Jubilee by making an image in honour of two great institutions, The Queen and the good old British cup of tea.
My cup is below and you can see more on the Meiklejohn blog here.

Santa has arrived early in the studio this year via a new commission from Random House. Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter from McFly are the authors of a very funny festive romp of a picture book, publishing in November in time for Christmas 2012. The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas is "about a boy who gets a dinosaur for Christmas which goes on an unstoppable festive eating rampage until Christmas is gone". More from BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat.

Fox & Tiger Hunting

Researching images for illustration on the net invariably turns up some weird and colourful stuff, some of which you wish you hadn't noticed but some that are cracking. Looking for Indian foxes I turned up these critters and to show the influence, here's some sketches as well.
